I travel a lot for work or vacations but, I soon get tired of those places. And there is always one place I want to come back to — Lagos. There are times when we complain about our city, be it traffic or weather or prices or any other thing. The reality is that we love our “home” with all our heart.
I have been exposed to its vast culture; music and dance; cuisine and food. Brimming with culture and tradition, Lagos is the most populated city of Nigeria. It has never failed to give me peace and a sense of an active life at the same time. Here are a few of my favourite places in Lagos, which I would like to recommend to others.
To begin with, I would like to take you through a tour of Eko Sky Restaurant and Lounge, located in the Ademola Street, Victoria Island. The view is great, food is nice and they have a reasonably wide collection of wine. A serene welcome break from the hum drum of the busy Lagos, it is one of the highest locations in the city, providing a phenomenal view of the Atlantic. On the menu you can find various cuisines, including Nigerian, Asian, European and North American dishes. It does not disappoint me anytime I pay a visit to this place. A treat for my taste buds as it has been, I would like to make a special mention to their collection of wine and range of cocktail. Boasting of a beautiful ambience, Ero Sky Lounge has a lot to offer you.
R.S.V.P
If I was to mention only one good thing about R.S.V.P. it will be great presentation of food and the fact that it is served in small portions. It leaves me with ample space to experiment with new kind of food. Elegant interiors with dim lights and soothing music and interesting cocktails is another winner. The ambience fits the bill for a quite ‘me’ time or even for business lunch with colleagues.
Cafe Neo
Coffee essentially is a very western concept, but here you get coffee with the African taste. It is sourced from the shores of Lake Kivu in the Hills of Rwanda. Cafe Neo can surely be the Starbucks of Africa. I often got there to unwind and find the feel of the place very refreshing. The coffee there is great and so is the ambience. A very casual place where everyone is there for a good time and nobody is judging you for how you are dressed or what you are doing. It is certainly one of the best cafes in Lagos.
Lakowe Lakes Golf Course
This is where I am closest to nature and the green on all sides is very mind settling. This 18- hole championship golf course is situated along the Lekki – Epe axis and sets new international standards for golf courses in West Africa. It promises elegance, in sync with peace and nature. Not to forget, Golf being my first love, the course is challenging enough. Fantastic greens, reasonably fast outfield, well-maintained clubhouse and great location a few miles from the ocean.
This is great stuff. Thanks and best regards.
