Diamond Bank recently hosted Nigeria’s biggest beauty and services fair. Tagged The Beauty Souk, the event catered to young entrepreneurs who are a part of this booming industry . In the last few years Nigeria has seen a surge in beauty products and services making this industry worth N500 billion. This rapid growth has stimulated the involvement of women entrepreneurs and beauty enthusiasts across the country. Diamond Bank being a strong advocate for women and entrepreneurs was proud to organise this beauty gala!
The event was a tremendous success with over 430 cosmetologists, beauty practitioners and participants signing up for the event and about 5000 women turning up at the venue. The energy was electric and it definitely put a smile on my face. We at Diamond Bank are constantly working towards empowering women entrepreneurs, SME’s and budding enterprises. The idea is to not just provide financial assistance, but also open gates to the market and consumers. The Beauty Souk was one way of bringing the providers and consumers together, thus expanding their network. This also created a platform for entrepreneurs to seek guidance and learn from counterparts and improve their products and services.
The other important aspect of the event was the to bring forth locally made Nigerian products. Big household names such as BMPro, Zaron Cosmetics, IBI’s Casabella, House of Tara, L.A Girl Nigeria, Classic makeup, Tresses were all there! The Beauty Souk in many ways became a microcosm of like minded people coming together to be a part of something big
