Apple has always been a leader and visionary when it comes to great products – both in terms of design and functionality. It has always emphasised on great looks with greater ease of use for its customers. Simple yet powerful is what Apple is known for. And this has drawn me to use Apple products for all these years. I have also encouraged my colleagues at Diamond Bank to use them. My love and respect for Apple products has been unshakeable, until recently.
Being a technology enthusiast, I like to surf with the tide and have come to believe that this industry is all about rapid change, with the latest, fastest and most innovative leading the game. There is enough innovation happening outside Apple, especially in ‘connected homes’ and ‘all in one computers’
Although Apple pioneered ‘being connected’ and virtual assistance technology with the launch of Siri, it somehow lost its fizz over time. Now there are amazing products such as Amazon’s Echo and Alexa which offer so much more than one can imagine. Like the saying goes, ‘who needs a personal assistant when you have Echo & Alexa, Google Home or even Siri’. I’m truly impressed with what other companies are doing in the tech field to stay ahead and am more than willing to try them, maybe even at the expense of moving away from the Apple ecosystem. One such that has recently caught my eye is Microsoft’s Surface Studio. It looks beautiful, has a great display, is more open and flexible than the iMac that I’ve been using for so many years. I’m very excited to have purchased one and it will soon become a part of my new study room.
Technology is all about constant innovation and being futuristic. And whoever leads the way, is where the customers go as well.
